What is BEMER?

Healthy circulation is vital to optimal health. Stimulating healthy muscles and temporarily increasing blood circulation in healthy muscles is the primary goal of BEMER, to support muscular health and optimize performance.*

BEMER devices use a pulsed electromagnetic field – abbreviated as PEMF – to deliver a patented therapeutic signal.

FAQ

BEMER is designed to improve circulation thereby supporting the body’s natural self-regulating processes. Blood is the body’s universal means of transport. Oxygen, nutrients, chemical messengers (e.g. hormones) and immune cells etc. are all transported through our blood. Only when all of our body’s cells, tissues and organs are adequately nourished and all metabolic waste products removed, can we be healthy and productive and our body function properly. The optimal regulation of circulation is a prerequisite for ensuring good levels of health and fitness.

BEMER is not a disease-specific application. Its effect on the circulation and the resulting improvements to the supply and removal of substances to/from the body’s cells allows these cells to produce and supply increasing amounts of energy, and therefore carry out their tasks (production) in a more functional manner.

Scientific findings confirm that correctly functioning circulation is of crucial importance in ensuring a person’s wellbeing and physical performance. In all advanced organisms, blood circulation regulates the nourishment of cells with oxygen and nutrients, the removal of waste products and many other processes.

The perception of the BEMER application differs from user to user. Some users experience a light feeling of warmth or a tingling sensation. Most feel noticeably relaxed and invigorated after the application.

Active medical implants that lead to stimulation (e.g. pacemakers, defibrillators, brain stimulators, muscle stimulators) represent a relative contraindication. The adjuvant application of the BEMER therapy must be discussed with the patient‘s attending physician.

When assessing the risk involved, your medical specialist must use the specified limit values for the implant concerned, and take into account the distance between the coil of the applicator and the electrodes of the implant, in order to assess whether the BEMER therapy could possibly cause interference at a maximum flux density of 150 μT (average flux density for full-body therapy is 21 μT). If, in the opinion of the medical specialist, impairment cannot be ruled out and operational safety is therefore not 100% guaranteed, the BEMER therapy system must not be used for treatment.

Yes. Although BEMER has far fewer contraindications than most medical devices, there are several cases where PEMF therapy should be avoided entirely. The following absolute contraindications must be observed:

  • Immunosuppressive therapy in consequence of transplantation
  • Immunosuppressive therapy in consequence of allogenic cellular transplantations or bone marrow stem cell transplantation
  • Other conditions often requiring immunosuppressive therapy, e.g. autoimmune diseases or dermatological diseases are not contraindications to the use of BEMER therapy. BEMER therapy application has to be cleared by the physician in charge.
  • Do not use the device if you have a diagnosed Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
  • Active medical implants that lead to stimulation (e.g. pacemakers, defibrillators, brain stimulators, muscle stimulators) represent a relative contraindication. The adjuvant application of the BEMER therapy must be discussed with the patient’s attending physician.
  • All active medical implants that are intended to administer medication (medication pumps) are an absolute contraindication and prohibit the use of BEMER therapy.

Aside from the contraindications listed above, there are few health risks associated with BEMER PEMF therapy. If you’re under the care of a doctor, we recommend discussing BEMER therapy with them before incorporating it into your daily life. As the targeted PEMF signal optimizes local blood flow in your healthy muscles, your cells become flooded with oxygen, making them more effective at filtering out wastes. This detoxifying process can, in rare cases, cause mild fatigue or lightheadedness in new users. Symptoms like this are easily avoided by starting with the lower settings and working your way up as your body adjusts to the PEMF signals over time.
